Learn moreAnimal feed
Feed-grade Potassium chloride is a natural source of readily available potassium (K) and chloride (Cl), which are the key macronutrients for any animals and must be included in everyday feed. Potassium is required for ion exchange in animal bodies, plays an important role in acid-base balance and neurotransmission, and acts as an enzyme activator or enzyme cofactor. Potassium deficiency results in poor appetite and poor weight gain.
As a feed additive, the product is suitable for:
- dogs and cats
- cattle
- pigs
- horses
- sheep and goats
- poultry
- aquaculture
It can be used as a salt substitute in animal feed production and can help mitigate the risk of cardiovascular diseases. Ruminant livestock requires potassium to maximise rumen microbiota activity. In addition, potassium improves the resistance of living organisms to thermal stress. Potassium chloride application as a feed additive becomes even more important when using potassium-deficient feed components.
Potassium chloride produced by Uralkali is characterized by high chemical purity and complies with the requirements for feed additives.
